Lydia H. M. Bredlau

Lydia Helene Mange Bredlau, 62 Wife, Mother, Sister and Grandmother passed away peacefully at her home in Stillwater, NJ on October 24, 2010 after fighting a valiant battle against ovarian cancer. Her loving husband and best friend, Peter J. Bredlau was there to hold her hand. Memorial Visitation, 2:00-5:00 PM Friday November 5, 2010, Gray Funeral Home, 318 E. Broad Street, Westfield. Memorial Services will begin at 11:00 AM Saturday, November 6, 2010 at the Presbyterian Church in Westfield, 140 Mountain Avenue. Private interment will be in the Revolutionary War Cemetery, Westfield. Born on December 15, 1947 in Reading, PA. Daughter of Louise Wolfinger and John P. Mange. Married to Peter J. Bredlau on June 20, 1970 and is survived by her brother John Mange, sister Susan (Mange) Stone, daughter Annelouise Bredlau Larson, son in law Eric Larson, son Peter J. Bredlau Jr. and daughter in law Marianne Bredlau. Six grandchildren, Noah, Bailey, and Avery Larson, and Madeline, Thomas and Caroline Bredlau. Graduated Reading High School, PA, attended York Jr. College, graduated Albright College (1969) and post graduate at Seton Hall University. History teacher for the Reading Public school district, nursery school teacher for the Presbyterian Church of Westfield, NJ and office manager for Quality Service Associates, Inc. until retirement in 2000. Member of the First Presbyterian Church of Stillwater, NJ and long time member (30 years) of the Presbyterian Church of Westfield, NJ. Deacon, Elder, Trustee, Lay Minister, Agape Soup Kitchen volunteer and Sunday school teacher for the Westfield Presbyterian Church. Volunteer for the Overlook and Newton Memorial Hospitals, and Manna House and Hospice. Lydia's motto was "life is not a dress rehearsal" and lived by that creed her entire life.
