Marc W. Andrew, 56, of Cranford, NJ, passed away January 18, 2019 at St. Barnabas Hospital after suffering an aneurysm. He is survived by his beloved wife of 25 years, Sherry Ackerson Andrew, and son, Ian Spencer Andrew.
Born in Southampton, England in 1962, Marc served in the British Army for a number of years. Most notably he with the UN Peacekeeping Forces in Cypress. He met Sherry in Covent Garden on the last night of her London vacation. Letter writing led to a trip to England and two soul mates finally found each other. Marc and Sherry wed in 1993 and lived in London until 1995 when they moved to Hoboken, NJ and, eventually, Cranford, NJ.
Marc was best-known for his quiet, cutting wit, his kind and sweet nature, his love of family, soccer (Fulham FC), music, food and travel, especially to Italy. He was a well-liked employee at BNP Paribas financial operations in Jersey City, NJ and an avid pick up soccer player.
It was widely known that Marc was a 'glass-half-full' guy. He loved vintage, corny British humor, Monty Python and Benny Hill included.
He will be sadly missed by his parents, Anna and Terence (Helga) and siblings, Ceri (Tim) and Alex (Gerrie) Thomas (Brandi), and various aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews living in England and the United States.
A life celebration will be on Saturday January 26, 2019 from 2 to 4 pm at Gray Memorial Funeral Home, Cranford. There will be a memorial service during the gathering.
