Margaret Kovacs Toth May 22, 1929 â August 23, 2022
Margaret Kovacs Toth passed away August 23, 2022 at her residence in Warren, New Jersey. Born and raised in Carteret, New Jersey, she was the daughter of the late Alexander and Elizabeth (Szabo) Toth. Marge is predeceased by her husband of 48 years, Stephen (Pete) Kovacs, her daughter Sharon Klein, son-in-law Marty Klein, her second husband, Stephen Toth and her brothers Alex, Benjamin, Joseph, John, Stephen and her sister Elizabeth (Betty) Antonelli.
Marge is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Glenn Montgomery, Grandson Gregory Montgomery and fiancée Stefanie, Granddaughter and her husband, Tara and Patrick Cleary and her great grandchildren, Brandon, Tyler, Riley, Aiden, Addison and Olivia. She is also survived by her wonderful nieces and nephews and their families as well as dear friends.
Marge graduated from Carteret High School and then pursued work in office administration. In 1950 she married the love of her life, Stephen (Pete) Kovacs. They settled in Carteret for 15 years before moving to Cranford, New Jersey where they enjoyed 30 wonderful years. In 1995 they relocated to Toms River, New Jersey. After Pete's passing in 1998, Marge moved to Middletown, New Jersey in 2004 with her second husband, Stephen Toth. Marge moved to Warren, New Jersey in 2021.Marge was active in the school PTA, Sunday school at The Hungarian Reformed Church in Carteret, Colony Club of Cranford and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Cranford. For many years Marge was a homemaker before working together with her husband Pete in their restaurant business. Marge also worked for the Boro of Roselle Park before her retirement.
Living her life loving her family and friends, Marge always made everyone feel welcome with her gracious hospitality and delicious food.
Visitation will be from 10 am until service time at 11am Monday, August 29, 2022 from Gray Memorial Funeral Home, Cranford, New Jersey.Entombment will be at Woodbridge Memorial Garden, Woodbridge, New Jersey immediately following.
