Margaret Woolston passed away peacefully at home on Monday, July 18, 2022. She was just a month shy of her 62nd birthday.
Margie was part of a large family being the eighth of nine but she was special in so many ways. Margie's generation was in the vanguard of changing norms when society no longer sidelined those with special needs, including Down's Syndrome.
For years Margie attended St. John of God School in Westville Grove, NJ and was active in the Special Olympics when that program was in its infancy. She excelled in ice skating and swimming and participated in several national Olympic meets bringing home ribbons to place next to those won by her brothers and sisters. In her later years, she enjoyed watching game shows and leafing through magazines.
Margie lived most of her life in Lake Villa, Voorhees Township but spent the last 13 years in Westfield with her sister, Georgeanne McMahon, and brother-in-law, Josh. In addition to them, she is survived by Ernest of California, Maryjane of Delaware, Theresa Hinchman of Shamong, Thomas and his wife, Joyce, of Berlin, and Robert and his wife, Lisa, of Sea Isle City. Margie also had eight nephews, six nieces, five grand nephews and two grand nieces. Her brothers, David and Daniel, predeceased her.
A private remembrance service is planned for next month. Arrangements are by Gray Funeral Home, Westfield, NJ. Please go to: www.grayfuneralhomes.com to offer condolences.
