Marion (Nee Schou) Jensen

Marion S. Jensen, 97, of Basking Ridge, formerly of Cranford, passed away at her residence on Sunday February 10, 2019. Marion's visitation will be from 3-5 and 6-8PM, on Friday February 15th, at Gray Memorial Funeral Home, 12 Springfield Avenue, Cranford. Her funeral service will begin at 11AM Saturday February 16, 2019 in the Chapel of St. Giles at Restland Memorial Park, 77 Deforest Ave, East Hanover, NJ. Private interment will follow. Please go to: www.grayfuneralhomes.com to offer condolences. Born in Elizabeth, Marion was employed by Celanese Corporation of America for approximately 25 years. In 1986 she became one of the original employees of Celgene Corporation in Summit, NJ, where she worked as an executive secretary, then later a receptionist, until 2017. She loved the people she worked with. Marion was an active member of the Danish Sisterhood throughout her life, and served on the board of directors for the Danish Home of Edison, NJ.for several decades. Marion was preceded in death by her beloved husband Christian M. Jensen, and her dear sister Elsie Giegerich. She is survived by two sons: Robert N. Jensen and his wife Joan, and Eric P. Jensen and his wife Linda. She is also survived by her five grandchildren, Christian Jensen and his wife Jacque, Kyle Jensen and his wife Lourdes, Lauren Jensen, Halden Scott, and Katharine Jensen, five great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Marion's life was one of silent perseverance filled with generosity and the brightest light. She was the beloved center of a large extended family and will be missed by all.
