A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 15 in the Terrill Road Baptist Church, 1340 Terrill Road, Scotch Plains at 11 am for Marjorie Hoover Koger. Marge aged 81 passed away on Friday, September 7, 2007 at her home in Cranford. She was born on December 1, 1925 in Henry County, Indiana to Charles O. Hoover and his wife Margaret Chamberlain Hoover.She was a graduate of New Lisbon High School, class of 1943. After graduating high school Marge began working as a personnel receptionist for the Perfect Circle Company in Hagerstown, Indiana. It was there that she met her future husband, W. Eugene Koger and were married in 1947. In 1967 Marge and her family moved to New Jersey. Most recently, Marge has lived in Cranford.
For 26 years she served as Finance Secretary for the Terrill Road Baptist Church in Scotch Plains. She was also employed as a legal secretary and bookkeeper for many years and from 1993 until 2006 she worked at the election polls. Most recently, she has been in charge of Senior Bridge in Cranford. Marge loved her church, her family, her many friends and also playing scrabble.Marge was predeceased by her beloved husband, W. Eugene Koger in 1971, her loving son Ricky in 1953 and two brothers and one sister. She is survived by her devoted children, Lynda K. Lavacca, David L. Koger and Susan M. Koger and her brother, Harold Hoover. She will also be deeply missed by her grandchildren, Kristina Caceci Berry, Matthew Caceci, Eric and Donald Koger.Donations in her memory may be made to the Childrens Specialized Hospital in Mountainside, NJ.
