Marjorie Pierson Saylor, 91, of Springfield, died Sunday April 14, 2013, at Chelsea Senior Living in Tinton Falls, NJ. Born in Westfield to the late George W. and Miriam Carl Pierson, Marjorie had been a lifelong resident of Westfield. She was a bookkeeper and assistant to the accountant for the Olsen Press Company in Mountainside, as well as other firms, including the former Hahne's Department store, Now Lord and Taylor, in Westfield. As a young lady, Mrs. Saylor went to modeling school, and had worked in the Flatiron Building in New York, and was also a runner for a jewelry company in the city. A member of the Westfield Womens Club, Marjorie was a 73 year member of The Presbyterian Church in Westfield, where she was active with Presbyterian Women. She was preceded in death by her husband John T. Saylor in 1991, and later married Herbert Wilson who died in 2002. She is survived her son: John P. "Jack"Saylor and his wife Carol of Ocean, NJ, her daughter: Jill Saylor of Bernalillo, NM, five grandchildren: Sharyn, Scott, and Gregory Saylor, and Keith and Paul Johnston. Marjorie's Life Celebration will be 6:00-9:00PM Thursday (today) April 18th, at Gray Funeral Directors, 318 E. Broad Street, Westfield, where her funeral service will begin at 11:00AM Friday April 19, 2013. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Westfield. Memorial contributions in her memory may be made to the American Heart Association, and to the Lustgarten Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer.
