Mary Catherine (Nee Szabo) Readdy

Mary Catherine Readdy (nee Szabo), 86, of Cranford, NJ, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, July 25, 2021. Mary was a legal secretary for over 30 years, retiring from Allstate Insurance Company. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, and sister.

Born in Newark, she was raised in Union and graduated from Union High School and Berkeley Secretarial School, later relocating to Cranford where she lived for 60 years. Mary was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Szabo, and beloved wife of the late Arthur F. Readdy, Jr. She is survived by her children Dr. Margaret Readdy (Dr. Richard Ehrenborg) of Lexington, KY, Andrew Readdy (Brandi Viig-Readdy) of Somerset, NJ, and Christine Readdy of Somerset, NJ, grandchildren Theodore and Thomas Ehrenborg, sisters Anna Szabo and Margaret Szabo of Union, NJ, and predeceased by brother Joseph Szabo, Jr.

Mary's Visitation will be on Tuesday, July 27, 2021 from 4-8 PM at Gray Memorial Funeral Home, 12 Springfield Ave. Cranford. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:30 AM Wednesday, July 28, 2021 at St. Theresa Catholic Church, 541 Washington Ave. Kenilworth. Interment will follow in Hazel Wood Cemetery, Clark.
