Melanie Hughes Graff, 61, of Cranford, died Sunday January 18, 2015, at Care One at the Highlands Center in Edison. Born to John and Dorothy Ballard Hughes in Rahway, Melanie graduated from Cranford High School, and attended Union County College. Melanie was an accountant first with Mountainside Public Schools, then more recently with the Board of Education in South Amboy, NJ. She enjoyed travelling with her family, especially their time along the Maine Coast, and Acadia National Park. She was preceded in death by her son: James A. Graff. Melanie is survived by her loving husband of 33 years, James W. Graff, her son: Sean D. Graff, her mother: Dorothy Hughes, brother: William Hughes, and sister: Laura Hughes. The Service of Remembrance will begin at 12 Noon, on Saturday January 24, 2015, at The First Presbyterian Church, in Cranford. Private burial will follow later in Fairview Cemetery, Westfield.
