Myrtle E. McIntyre (nee Opitz) passed away on Sunday, November 25, 2007 at Runnells Specialized Hospital in Berkely Heights. She was 86.
Mrs. McIntyre was born in Summit on November 28, 1920 and was raised in New Providence where she was a member of the New Providence Methodist Church.
She was a graduate of the Overlook School of Nursing. She was then employed as an RN for 12 years and later as the night nursing supervisor there for 30 years. She retired 25 years ago.
After her retirement she volunteered for the Red Cross. She enjoyed travelling and spending time with her friends and especially her grandchildren.
Surviving are her children, Richard McIntyre of Los Alamos, New Mexico, Carol Laibstain Norfolk, Virginia and Linda Blauvelt of Westfield. She will also be deeply missed by her grandchildren, Harry, Julia, Sarah, David, Virginia and Adrianne.
