NORMA DUNKEL KARLE, 91, died of natural causes in Atlanta, Georgia on March 13, 2012. She was proceeded in death by her first husband, Wilbur Dunkel, with whom she celebrated 33 years of marriage, and by her second husband of 22 years, Edmund Karle. Mrs. Karle (nee Norma Huber) graduated from Hillside High School in 1938. Prior to her first marriage, she worked for Elizabethtown Gas Company. She was a longtime resident of Scotch Plains, New Jersey and a member of both Metuchen and Plainfield country clubs. She later spent her retirement years in Flat Rock, North Carolina. She is survived by her sons, William Dunkel of Marietta, Georgia, Thomas Dunkel of Washington, DC, and Daniel Dunkel of Colleyville, Texas; daughters-in-law Christine Dunkel and Susan Dunkel; stepdaughters Sandra Huth of Edison, New Jersey and Mary Lee Goldmann of Clark, New Jersey; and five grandchildren. Funeral services will begin at 1:00PM Saturday March 17, 2012, in the chapel of Graceland Memorial Park, 1900 Galloping Hill Road, Kenilworth. Arrangements by Gray's, Funeral Directors, Westfield. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Association and the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
