Paul E. Kystow Husband, father, materials engineer Paul E. Krystow of Mountainside (NJ), passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, February 16, 2010 at the age of 88. A memorial service and interment will be held Saturday, February 20, 2010 at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 414 E. Broad St., Westfield. Paul is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Joan; two children, Isabelle Radock and her husband William, and Paul and his wife Bernadette; four grandchildren: Maryanna, Stephen, Ryan, and Paul III; and a brother, Henry Krystow. Born in Brooklyn, NY, Mr. Krystow graduated from Penn State University with a degree in Chemical Engioneering. Later, he continued his education during evenings at Brooklyn Polytechnic Institute and received his Master's degree in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering. While employed by Colgate in Jersey City, he met the love of his wife, Joan who was employed as a chemist. Paul and Joan settled in Mountainside in 1956 with Paul working as a materials engineering specialist for Esso, then Exxon Research and Engineering Company in Florham Park until his retirement in 1986. Work continued for Paul in his retirement years as a consulting engineer until he suffered a serious stroke in 1996.
