Richard S. Hingel

Richard Hingel entered into eternal life on October 26, 2019 in New York City.

Richard was born in Summit on May 8, 1967. He was raised in Westfield and graduated from Westfield Senior High School in 1985. Richard was passionate about wrestling and was a Varsity wrestler since 9th grade. During his tenure on the Varsity Wrestling Team he was part of two district championship teams and one sectional runner up. Richard was named Co-Captain of the Varsity Wrestling team during his senior year. After graduation Richard started a successful painting business, Final Touch Painting & Decorating, which operated throughout Union County.

Richard loved to surf and spend time with family and friends. He also found great joy in teaching his friend's children difficult wrestling moves that some still use today. Richard had a contagious smile and the gift of making people laugh with his jokes and storytelling.

Richard is survived by his sister Sherl Brand and her husband Owen (Westfield), his nephews Ryan Brand (Westfield) and Taylor Brand (Manhattan), his sister Holly Anne Marvelli Schumacher (Oakland Park FL) and his niece Jennifer Marvelli Bernal(Virginia Beach VA). He is predeceased by his parents, Arthur and Dorothy Hingel and his brother Stephen Hingel.

Richard's visitation will be Wednesday October 30th, from 5:00-8:00PM at Gray Funeral Home, Westfield, where his funeral service will begin at 10:30AM Thursday October 31, 2019.
