Richard C. Maxfield, 90, formerly of Cranford, died January 4, 2017 at the New York State
Veterans Home at St. Albans in Jamaica, NY. He was born and raised in New Jersey. In World
War II he served in the Company G, 11th Infantry Regiment, and was awarded the distinction of Distinguished Member by Major General John M. LeMoyne for his outstanding contributions. Dick was a graduate of The Citadel, and for many years worked for Ciba, Summit, NJ. He is survived by his niece Elizabeth Anne Teets and his nephew Ronald C. Nettleship, and good friend Bruce Higgins. Interment with military honors will follow at a later date at Fairview Cemetery, Westfield, NJ. Arrangements by Gray's of Cranford.
