Richard Alan Stein

May 25, 1932 — August 29, 2023

Mountainside, NJ

Richard, my dear husband, was a good man, loving, kind, supportive, courteous, decent, a loving soul. He was also very funny, always coming up with quips that made people laugh. He loved his family. He was very talented both as a musician and as an artist.  I loved him dearly and will miss his physical being profoundly. I know his soul is with me, keeping me company.

Richard Stein, the father and father in-law to Wayne & Tane Martin and the grandfather to Courtney, Kyler Meghan, Lauren and Kirk Martin-Bakken.

He will always be remembered by me as a gentle man. He was always kind and caring.  That was my father’s way.  It was his character I witnessed throughout my life.  It’s how he influenced the people he spent time with. He also constantly gave me his encouragement and the impression I was the best. I will always cherish our conversations about the meaning of life, family and work.

I love you dad and thank the Lord always for allowing me and my family to have you as Father and Grandpa Richard!

I want to honor Virginia for her constant faithfulness and care for her Husband.

Ode to Richard

Tall as an oak

Feet in the ground

Mind in the cosmos

Love all around

Words

Like a warm breeze

Wit

Humor with ease

Laughter all around

Patient,

Mindful,

Loving,

All this abounds.

Music filled the air.

Hearts uplifted with care.

Richard Stein

A soul that resounds.

Though the body

Is now passed into the ground.
