Richard P. Vaiconis age 84 died on Wednesday, March 21, 2007 at his home in Cranford. Mr. Vaiconis was born in Elizabeth and was a lifelong resident of Cranford. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the Army Air Corp. Mr. Vaiconis was a graduate of the Newark College of Engineering which is now NJIT.
He was employed for 35 years as a mechanical engineer for Texaco in Cherry Hill. He retired in 1987.
Mr. Vaiconis was a member and a deacon at the Alliance Church in Cranford. He was also a member of the Azure Mesada Lodge #22 F&AM in Cranford.
He is predeceased by his wife, Roberta.
He is survived by a daughter, Susan M. Carl of Metuchen. Two grandchildren, Andrew R. and Kelly N. Carl. Also surviving is his great granddaughter, Olivia Nicole Carl.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to visit on Friday from 9 am until 11 am at which time a funeral service will be held at the Gray Memorial Funeral Home 12 Springfield Ave., Cranford. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Westfield.
