Rita Theresa Mehrman Hansen

Rita Theresa Hansen (nee Mehrman), 73, of Fanwood,NJ and formerly of Rahway, NJ, passed away on Monday morning, June 1, 2015 at Hackensack University Medical Center, following a short illness. Born to George and Agnes McGrath Mehrman in Newark, NJ, Rita had been a filing administrator with X-ray sorting at RWJ University Rahway Medical Center. She and her beloved late husband Harvey R. Hansen lived in Rahway, where they raised four children. She enjoyed crocheting and playing bingo. Rita loved going to Atlantic City, and going on cruises. She is survived by sons: Harvey R. Hansen Jr. of Atlantic Highlands, NJ, George P. Hansen and his wife Stefanie of Fanwood, NJ, Mark T. Hansen also of Fanwood, NJ, and daughter Justine L. Severt and her husband Steven of PA. Rita was a devoted grandmother of 7, and a dear sister to: Margaret Ann Morales of Newark, NJ, and Theresa Hernandez of Toms River, NJ.
Rita's Life Celebration will be Wednesday June 3rd, from 6:00-9:00 PM at Gray Funeral Directors, A Life Celebration Home, 318 E. Broad St., Westfield, NJ. Her funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM June 4, 2015 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 1571 South Martine Ave., Scotch Plains, NJ.
