Robert Ripp of Tinton Falls, NJ formerly of Bayonne, passed away at home on June 26, 2022, at the age of 79. Robert was born August 31, 1942 in Jersey City as an only child to Elizabeth (nee Klinck) and Robert J. Ripp.
Raised in Bayonne, Bob was a graduate of Bayonne High School before attending Stevens Institute of Technology. From there he went on to owning his own business, Bob's Liquors in Bayonne, for many years. Prior to retiring, he worked at New Jersey City University in the maintenance Department.
Skilled with many "tools of the trade", he loved working on the building, redesigning, and repairing both inside and outside of his own home and the homes of others. He enjoyed watching NASCAR along with his other favorite shows, such as Shark Tank, Pickers, and Pawn Stars. He loved Chocolate.
Although a private person, he always welcomed visits from family and friends, and enjoyed their company. He had a great wit and took great pleasure in relentlessly teasing those he knew and even strangers. He had nicknames for many, whether you were happy with it or not. Bob was strong willed, and above all else stubborn. He never passed up the opportunity to argue. He did it his way or he didn't do it at all.
Bob is survived by his beloved partner of 38 years, Rose Ann Pernicone; his daughter Dawn and her husband Paul DeNigris, his daughter Susan and her husband Paul DeFluri; his grandchildren Aaron DeNigris, Lauren DeNigris, Rebecca DeNigris and Elizabeth DeFluri; his great-grandson Mason DeNigris.
Visitation on Friday July 1, 2022 from 10:00am to 1:00pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 1:30pm at St. Michael's; Church, Cranford. Private cremation to follow.
In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, ASPCA, or a charity of your choice.
