Rosemary Christine Larson Bauer, a resident of Westfield, New Jersey since 1954, died on March 23, 2017 at the age of 92.
Born in Gary, Indiana to Swedish immigrants on February 10, 1925, she was an alumna of Rockford College and University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, where she received a Bachelor's degree in Education in 1947. She taught almost 30 years at the Wardlaw-Hartridge School in Edison, New Jersey until her retirement.
Rosemary was awarded the most valuable teacher award by the Wardlaw-Hartridge Alumni Association, the only elementary school teacher to have received this honor.
With her late husband, Ralph Glenn Bauer, a maritime lawyer, she traveled extensively and made many international contacts during their 60 year marriage. She was a prominent and active volunteer in the Westfield community, especially in the Westfield Service League, Westfield Musical Club, Garden Club, Advance Club and St. Paul's Episcopal Church.
She is survived by her children Carla (and husband Peter), Jeff, Ralph, and three grandchildren Carl, Glenn, and Emily. Her brother, Larry Larson resides in Crown Point, Indiana.
A memorial service will be held at St. Paul's Episcopal Church on Saturday April 1,2017 at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Westfield Musical Club or St. Paul's Episcopal Church.
