Ross Alexander Lyle of Westfield passed away on December 26, 2007 at Overlook Hospital in Summit.
He was born in Fairlawn, NJ and raised in Paterson. Mr. Lyle also lived in New York City before moving to Westfield in 1983.
Mr. Lyle was employed by Johnson & Johnson in New Brunswick, NJ for 26 years. He was Vice President of Human Resources for Johnson & Johnson Consumer Products when he retired in 1992. Prior to joining Johnson & Johnson he taught for five years at DePaul Diocesan High School in Wayne, NJ.
He was a 1957 graduate of Seton Hall University in South Orange, NJ. In 1959 Mr. Lyle was awarded a degree in theology cum laude by the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome, Italy while at the North American College. Mr. Lyle had been active in various professional associations as well as the United Way during his career. He also served on the board of the Princeton Ballet.
He is survived by his son, Delando Braxton and his wife Nicole. Two sisters; Patricia Wheeler and Gail Cortese. Three grandchildren, Deon, Kaela and Courtney Braxton and 14 nieces and nephews.
Visiting will be on Friday evening from 7-9 pm at the Gray Funeral Home 318 East Broad Street, Westfield, NJ. A graveside service will be held on Saturday at 10:30 am at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Totowa.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to either the United Way or the Princeton Ballet.
