Russell I. Dobbins

Mr. Russell I. Dobbins, age 91, died on Thursday January 8, 2009 at the Frederick Mennonite Community in Frederick, PA. Born in Brooklyn, New York, he lived in Cranford, New Jersey for 58 years before moving to Frederick, PA three years ago.
He worked as an Engineer for American Can Company for 43 years before his retirement in 1978.
He was a former member of the Cranford United Methodist Church of Cranford, NJ. He was a member of Azure-Masada Lodge #22 F & AM of Cranford. He also served four terms as Worthy Patron of Azure Chapter # 87 Order of the Eastern Star, in Cranford.
He was loving husband of the late Lillian M. Dobbins who died in 1994. He is survived by his sons, Russell J. Dobbins, and Paul C. Dobbins. His daughter-in-law Diane R. Dobbins. Also survived by 5 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren.
Visitation is Monday from 2-4, 7-9 PM at the Gray Memorial Funeral Home, 12 Springfield Ave., Cranford. An Eastern Star, and an Eastern Star service at 7:30 PM, and a Masonic service will be at 8 PM during the visitation hours. Funeral services are Tuesday 11 AM at the funeral home.
Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to the American Alzheimers Association, 400 Morris Ave, Suite 251, Denville, NJ 07834, in his memory.
