Ruth Jean Le Duc

July 9, 1932 — February 21, 2009

Ruth Jean (Fairweather) Le Duc, 76, beloved wife of Richard, went home to the Lord on February 21, 2009. A Memorial Service celebrating her life will be held at Cranford United Methodist Church, 201 Lincoln Avenue, East, Cranford, NJ on Saturday morning, February 28, at 11:00 a.m.
A longtime resident of Clark, Ruth resided in Lakewood for the last four years. She worked for many years as a receptionist at the medical office of Drs. Fidler and Pogany in Cranford. She was a member of Cranford United Methodist Church and an Associate Member of St. Andrew United Methodist Church in Toms River. For nearly thirty years, she and her husband were an active part of the Christian tent cottage community at Ocean Grove. Through the years, she served as a PTA President in Clark, as Co-Founder and Vice President of the A.L. Johnson High School Band Boosters Club, as President of the United Methodist Women and Lay Leader at Cranford United Methodist Church, and as President of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Ocean Grove Auditorium Ushers. She was an active member for many years of Church Women United in Cranford and was on the leadership team of Marriage Enrichment of New Jersey.
Ruth is survived by her adoring husband of 57 years, Richard; her five children Judith Turner and her husband Michael of Cranford, Nancy Turner and her husband Jack of Colonia, David Le Duc and his wife Karen of Nutley, Thomas Le Duc and his wife Wendy of East Stroudsburg, PA, and Patricia Gerichten and her husband Robert of Bethlehem, PA; 13 grandchildren: Debbie Turner, Jamie Ross and her husband Michael, Rebecca Turner, Donna Lahens and her husband Serge, Elizabeth Le Duc, Brian Turner, Scott Le Duc, William Le Duc, Zachary Le Duc, Erica Gerichten, Douglas Gerichten, Wyatt Le Duc, and Ayday Ruth Gerichten; one great-granddaughter Hailey Ross; three sisters: Emily Driver, Alice Allen, and May Houtenville; her brother-in-law Robert Le Duc and his wife Lou; and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Ruth's memory would be appreciated to the Cranford United Methodist Church Memorial Fund, 201 Lincoln Avenue East, Cranford, NJ 07016 or the Ladies Auxiliary of the Ocean Grove Auditorium Ushers, 54 Pitman Avenue, Ocean Grove, NJ 07756.
As Jesus said, "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and mind and soul and strength, and love your neighbor as yourself," Ruth Le Duc did so fully and faithfully.
