Ruth Ann Halko, of Cranford, NJ, passed away suddenly in her home on Friday, October 2, 2015. She was born in Rahway, NJ, on October 10, 1947, to the late Donald Wehrenberg Sr. and Joan Metzger. She was pre deceased by her husband, Joseph Halko.
Surviving are her daughter Ruthie Halko, brother Donald Wehrenberg Jr, and his wife Donna, and nephews Jason and Justin Wehrenberg. Also surviving is her dog, Charlie, and her grand-dogs Kahlua, Little Man, and Oliver. She lost her beloved dog, Zoey, to cancer in July 2015.
Ruth played 3rd base for the semi-pro Elizabeth Marauders and the Linden Ariens women's fast pitch softball teams.
She was a clerical assistant at Brookside Place School and a child care giver at Prime Time in Cranford, NJ for almost twenty years.
She was very active in the animal community alongside her daughter. She was a Girl Scout Leader for 13 years.
There will be a Life Celebration gathering on Saturday, October 10th, 2015 from 2:00 - 4:00pm at Gray Memorial Home, 12 Springfield Ave, Cranford, NJ.
