Ruth Bogert Young was born July 6, 1917 to William Tyson Bogert and Lucy Munro Bogert in Newark, NJ. She also shared her family life with her devoted brother Hayden Munro Bogert. After attending Barringer High School, she did her college studies at Douglas College in New Brunswidk, and went on to teach piano for 35 years in Newark, and Westfield. Among the likes and delights of her life were her love of 19th century English Litterature, Languages (French in particular), coaching her husband and son in their concert preparations, Martha's Vineyard, playing classical music (a daily routine), sailing, book sales, button collecting, drawing, British comedies, and her membership in: The Musician's Club of New Jersey, Words of Music, the Allaince Francaise of Montclaire, and Le Petit Coin de France. Above all else was her love of her family, her "honorary" grandchildren Andrea and Steven Fang, her friends (especially Ingrid and Peter Quick), and her wonderful cats and dogs. She is survived by her loving husband of 69 years, Raymond, a proud son Stefan, and loving nieces and nephews. A family and friend gathering will be held in a number of weeks.
