Sandra M. Konet

Sandee M. Konet, 66, passed away at Trinitas Medical Center in Elizabeth, NJ on December 30, 2013, with her daughter, sister and husband at her bedside. Sandee was born Sandora Rosalie Martin on January 9, 1947 in Rahway, NJ to Frank and Lillian Martin. In 1968, she obtained her bachelor's degree from Kent State University, where she met the love of her life and husband of 45 years, Richard James Konet in Latin class. Moving back to NJ in 1970, the two bought a home in Westfield where they resided for over 30 years. Sandee worked as a medical social worker for 35 years, first at JFK Medical Center and then at Trinitas Medical Center. She was artistic and enjoyed cooking, quilting, knitting and crafting. An adored wife, mother and grandmother, Sandee's greatest pleasure was spending time with loved ones. Sandee Konet is survived by her beloved husband Richard Konet, daughter Alison Hoffman, sister Francine Martin, brother Anthony Martin and father Frank Martin. In addition, she is survived by her 3 grandsons, Beckett Hoffman, Archer Hoffman and Wilder Hoffman whom she cherished deeply. A small family gathering will be held in her honor at her home in Westfield. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to support cancer research at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center or the American Cancer Society. Arrangements by Gray Funeral Home, Westfield.
