Scott Martin Vander Wall died suddenly at his home in Wyckoff, NJ on Tuesday, January 19th. He was 41 years old.
Scott was born and raised in Midland Park, NJ and attended Midland Park High School. He married Brenda (Haven) Vander Wall in 1993 and they raised two wonderful children together; Christopher Scott Vander Wall (age 22) and Samantha Marie Vander Wall (age 14). He also leaves behind his youngest daughter Emma Vander Wall (age 3).
Scott worked in the trucking industry for most of his life, where his love of driving and diesel mechanics served him well. He also worked as a machinist at Ken-Mar Machine Manufacturing for a period of time.
Scott was an avid car and truck enthusiast, who also loved hiking, boating, and being outdoors. He especially loved spending time in the northeastern area of Pennsylvania by Lake Wallenpaupack, where he was a part of many special moments and memories with his family and close friends.
Scott was a member of Abundant Life Reformed Church in Wyckoff, NJ for many years. He was also employed by the church part-time in charge of grounds and maintenance.
Scott is survived by his wife Brenda and his three children. He is also survived by his parents; Donald and Jean Vander Wall, and his siblings and their spouses; Todd and Jessica Vander Wall, Mark and Wendy (Vander Wall) Cassidy, and Sandy Vander Wall. He also leaves behind his two nephews Matthew Cassidy, (age 4) and Holden Thibault (age 7), whom he loved very much.
Scott was blessed with many wonderful friends and family in his life, who loved him deeply. He will be greatly missed. His loved ones take comfort in knowing that Scott is now with his Heavenly Father in a place of eternal rest and love, and that he will always be a part of their lives because he will always be in their hearts.
A gathering for family and friends will be 4 to 8 pm on Sunday January 24, 2016 at the Abundant Life Reformed Church, 475 Lafayette Avenue, in Wyckoff, New Jersey. A memorial service of his life celebration will be 10 am Monday, January 25, 2016 at the church with a reception to follow at the fellowship hall. Arrangements by Gray Funeral Home in Cranford, NJ.
