Steven L. Dowling

Steven L. Dowling, 67, of Roselle Park, NJ passed away at home on Wednesday, April 16, 2014. Steven's Life Celebration will be from 2-4 and 7-9PM Tuesday April 22, 2014, at Gray Funeral Directors, A Life Celebration Home, 12 Springfield Ave, Cranford. His funeral service will begin at 10am Wednesday April 23, 2014 at Trinity Episcopal Church, Cranford, where interment will follow. Steven was born in Elizabeth, NJ, and has resided in Roselle Park since 1978. Steven was the Chief of Office Services for the Board of Public Utilities for over forty three years before retiring in 2011. Steven was also very dedicated to the Roselle Park Youth Baseball League, as well as the Dad's Club Organization. He was also an avid train collector and Yankee fan. Surviving are his loving wife of forty four years, Mary Diane; son Adam and wife Sharon (Golemme); daughter Kara; grandchildren Thomas, Juliana and Rebecca Dowling; brother Peter and wife Maria; sister Eleanor Lynes and husband Thomas; sister Kathleen Reynolds and husband Sam; sister Ruth; sister in law Mary and many nieces and nephews. Steven was also predeceased by his brother, William and his parents, Peter and Ruth. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital or Martin and Edith Stein Hospice, Somerset, NJ.
