Vernon A. Baker

Vernon (Bud) A.Baker age 88 died on Sunday November 29, 209 at Beth Israel Hospital in Newark, NJ. Born in Rhode Island, Vernon has lived in Cranford for the last 51 years. Vernon was a Textile Designer for Reeves Brothers in New York City, retiring in 1986. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Cranford-Elizabeth. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years to Frances C. Baker. His son, Thomas V. Baker, and his wife Sigrid. His daughter Jill Jackson, and her husband Bill. Six grandchildren, Florian, Daniel, and Heather Baker, Beth, Amy, and David Jackson. Also survived by 3 great grandchildren. Visitation will be on Thursday from 7-9 PM at the Gray Memorial Funeral Home, 12 Springfield Ave. in Cranford. A funeral service will be on Friday 9:30 AM at the First Baptist Church, Cranford-Elizabeth, entombment will follow at Woodbridge Memorial Gardens. Donations in lieu of flowers may be made St. Barnabas Hospice and Palliative Care Center, or the Alzheimers Association. Arrangements by the Gray Memorial Funeral Home, Cranford.
