Vincent P. Tomalonis

Vincent (Tom) P. Tomalonis age 86 died on Wednesday June 24, 2009 at his residence in Westfield, NJ.Born in Mahoney City, PA, he lived in Westfield since 1960.Serving during World War Two, Tom was in the Merchant Marines. He graduated from the U.S.Merchant Marine Academy in 1944. He worked as a Marine Engineer for Marine Transport Lines in New York City, then A.T. & T. in Morris Plains for many years before his retirement in 1989.He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Maria W. (nee Mello) Tomalonis. Five children, Gail Grossmann and her husband John, Jane Gursky and her husband Robert, William and his wife Barbara, Mark and his wife Kathleen, and David Tomalonis. Also surviving are grandchildren, Rachael, Jeffrey, David, Andrew, Sarah, Katharine, Erin, and William.Visitation will be on Monday from 2-4, 7-9 PM at the Gray Funeral Home 318 East Broad St. in Westfield. Funeral Liturgy will be 10 AM Tuesday June 30, 2009 at Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church in Westfield. Burial, will follow at Fairview Cemetery.Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to the Westfield Rescue Squad , Holy Trinity R.C. Church, or the charity of your choice.
