Funeral services will be private for Mr. William A. Donald who passed away on October 9, 2007 at St. Catherine of Siena Hospital in Smithtown, New York.
Mr. Donald age 85 was born in Cranford, NJ and resided in Westfield and Huntington, Long Island for many years. Most recently he has resided in Stony Brook, NY and Boca Raton, Fl.
He was a veteran of the US Army Air Corp serving during World War II. While in the service he attained the rank of First Lieutenant. He was a first pilot of the B-24 Liberator Bomber with the 15th Army Air Force and completed over 50 missions in the European Theatre.
He was a manager for Park Lane Furniture in Trenton and later with John A. Schwartz Furniture in Long Island for many years. He retired several years ago.
Mr. Donald was a passionate golfer and an avid fisherman on Long Island.
He is predeceased by his wife Mary. Surviving are his children; Sherrie, Rick and his wife Claire, and Deborah Whelan and her husband John. He is also survived by his sister, Laura Higbie. He will also be deeply missed by his grandchildren; Katie Blume and husband Jason, Steven Donald and Cynthia Donald.
