William Dominick Iaione

William Dominick Iaione, 76, of Mountainside, died Monday December 27, 2010, at his residence. Visitation will be 2-6 PM Sunday January 2, 2011, and 2-4 and 7-9 PM Monday January 3, 2011 at Gray Memorial Funeral Home, 12 Springfield Avenue, Cranford. Funeral services will begin at 10 AM Tuesday January 4, 2011 in the First Presbyterian Church, Cranford. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Westfield. He is survived by his loving wife: Barbara A. Iaione, devoted sons: Kevin A. Iaione and wife Robin, Darren J. Iaione and wife Carol, six grandchildren: Kaylin, Jonathan, Justin, Rachel, Sarah, David, and many beloved cousins. Born in Cranford, Mr. Iaione was a construction engineer, general contractor, and president of Iaione Management, based in Mountainside. He began his career working with his late father Antonio, in the A.Iaione Builder, and Contacting company of Cranford. The company built many homes and commerical buildings in Westfield and Cranford. A graduate of Cranford High School, he was a member of Cranford's 1952 State Championship football team. He graduated from Delhi University, and attended Columbia University. He served as a medic in the US Army. Mr. Iaione was a past president of the Mountainside UNICO Chapter. He also served as a training coordinator with the Bricklayers & Allied Craftsmen union. He was also a member of the Cranford Kiwanis. He will be greatly missed, but will be remembered always in our hearts.
