William (Bill) Zinsky, 96 of Linden died Saturday, December 17th, 2016 after a short illness. William's life celebration will be held Wednesday December 21st from 4:30-8:30 PM at Gray's Funeral Home, 21 Springfield Ave. Cranford. His funeral mass will be held at 10 AM December 22nd, 2016 at St. Theresa's Catholic Church, Kenilworth with burial to follow at Holy Redeemer Cemetery, South Plainfield.
Born in Olyphant, Pa., he settled and raised his Family in Plainfield, NJ. He owned and operated the former Sunset Tavern in Garwood, NJ with his wife Anna Marie. After the loss of his wife he worked at and retired from Metropolitan Life Insurance Company. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends and tending to his large garden. Late in life he began to travel and visited France and Spain several times. As a great story teller he would share his adventures in life that ranged from working in the coal mines, to trying out for the Boston Braves.
He was the beloved husband of the late Anna Marie (Hurajt) Zinsky. He is survived by his daughter Ann Marie and predeceased son-in-law Dr. Anthony Colalillo, sons; William J., Luke & daughter-in-law Tamara, Matthew & daughter-in-law Lauren. William has four loving grandchildren Theresa Colalillo, Timothy Colalillo, Ellen Zinsky & Amy Zinsky. His smile and laughter will be greatly missed
